Rural Considerations

Rural citizens identify challenging social and cultural environments that can impact on accessing sexual and reproductive health services, such as a sense of heightened visibility and a perceived or actual lack of privacy and confidentiality. The structural factors include: financial barriers, inconsistent access to bulk billing or low cost services, limited choice of health care provider, limited or absent local services, and varying patterns of service delivery across regional Victoria (and beyond).
